Solskjaer out of Villa reckoning

Former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he will not be returning to the English Premier League as Aston Villa manager.

The 39-year-old intends to honour his contract with Molde in his native Norway, and claims he was not offered the Villa job after informal talks.

I have not had any offers, he told reporters.

I m not looking for another job.

In football, and in life in general, things turn up that you have to make decisions about. I have a contract for two more years and I ll stand by that.

Solskjaer played 235 times for United, scoring 91 goals along the way, before retiring in 2007 following recurring injury problems.

He coached United s reserve team between 2008 and 2010, before returning to Molde, where he led his old club to their first ever Norwegian Premier League title.

With Solskjaer out of the running, Norwich City manager Paul Lambert is now rated as the favourite to take over at Villa Park.
