Championship fixtures 2019-20: Derby start at Huddersfield, Fulham visit Barnsley

Huddersfield Town face a tricky opening fixture against Derby County on their return to the Championship, while Fulham play newly promoted Barnsley first up.

Huddersfield and Fulham were relegated from the Premier League last season, along with Cardiff City, but start the new campaign with contrasting fixtures.

Beaten play-off finalists Derby managed by Frank Lampard, the favourite for the Chelsea job go to Huddersfield to conclude the opening round of fixtures on August 5.

Jan Siewert s side face a particularly tough start, with Fulham and Cardiff also on the agenda in their first four matches.

The season starts on August 2 with League One winners Luton Town hosting Middlesbrough, while Charlton Athletic travel to Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff visit Wigan…

FC Dallas v Los Angeles FC: ´Last chance´ saloon for hosts, insists Luccin

FC Dallas interim head coach Peter Luccin labelled his side’s upcoming fixture against Western Conference leaders Los Angeles FC as “crucial” if they are to make the playoffs this season.

The Toros fell to a 3-2 defeat to Real Salt Lake in their last encounter, leaving them 11th in the table and four points behind the playoff line with five games of the season remaining.

Dallas are winless in their last three MLS games, and Luccin reiterated the message to his players that this weekend could be their final chance at continuing their season.

“We need to be clear now,” Luccin started. We cannot lie. We have a game on Saturday that could be our last chance, even though we have two games at home.

“Our last game was important, but this one is cruci…

Euro 2020 final: Carragher says ´outstanding´ Sterling has been player of the tournament

Raheem Sterling should be named player of the tournament if England beat Italy to win Euro 2020, according to Jamie Carragher.

With the 26-year-old having rounded off last season with just one goal from his last 16 appearances for Manchester City, it was suggested that his England starting place might be under threat.

However, he has come alive at the tournament, scoring the Three Lions first three goals (two of which were winners), grabbing an assist, and winning the penalty that booked a place in the final.

And former England international Carragher believes those contributions have marked him out as the star man of Euro 2020.

Nobody has been able to cope with Sterling in this tournament, he told Sky Sports.  If England go on to win he will win play…

Real Madrid lose €300m to pandemic but report profit for 2020-21

Real Madrid revealed they have lost close to €300million in revenue during the coronavirus pandemic as their financial results were announced on Wednesday.

However, Los Blancos reported a post-tax profit of €874,000 for 2020-21, up from €313,000 in the previous financial year.

In this way, the club will be one of the few big clubs in Europe that does not incur losses in these two years, given that – according to a UEFA study – the operating losses accumulated by European clubs between 2019-20 and 2020-21 will approach €6billion, Madrid said.

A statement attributed the club s financial performance to intense spending saving measures in all areas .

These measures, Madrid said, were the only way to compensate for a sizeable nine-figure revenue l…

Premier League review: Boxing Day 2012

Jonathan Walters scored a brace for Stoke in last nights 3-1 victory over Liverpool at the Britannia Stadium

As usual the Premier League action on Boxing Day produced a host of goals, action and controversy. Leaders Manchester United defeated Newcastle 4-3 in a pulsating encounter at Old Trafford.

It was the visitors that drew first blood though.

United keeper David de Gea failed to deal with Demba Ba’s effort and midfielder James Perch was on hand to fire home the rebound.

The home side were back on level terms in the 25th minute. Tim Krul could only palm out a Javier Hernandez effort and United centre-back Jonny Evans was well-placed to level the scores.

Three minutes later and the Northern Ireland international went from hero to villain. Mag…

Browns vs Chiefs Week 1 Picks and Predictions: Cleveland Looks for Revenge In What Should Be A Shootout

Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns are coming off successful seasons that finished with a sour taste in their mouths.

Kansas City got absolutely waxed in the Super Bowl, while Cleveland actually made the playoffs but was eliminated by these Chiefs… with backup QB Chad Henne.

These projected AFC titans square off again in perhaps the marquee matchup of Week 1, with the home Chiefs sitting as 6-point NFL betting favorites.

Which side will start 2021 with a big statement win? Get our thoughts with our free NFL picks and predictions for Browns vs. Chiefs on Sunday, September 12 with kickoff at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Week 13 NFL Parlay Picks: Mixon Hits Paydirt Again

We could be in for some close calls in Week 13. Of the 13 remaining NFL games, seven have spreads with numbers under a touchdown. That’s a good indicator that we’re in for a competitive week of difficult-to-predict contests.

That said, we’re here to help make the most of your Week 13 wagers. Here’s a look at my favorite spreads, totals and player prop bets that I’ll be targeting in Week 13.

Best NFL Betting Values for Early Week 7 NFL Lines: Going (AFC) North of a Look-Ahead Total

Ohhhh Week 7. A schedule that only a bettor can love, with three primetime games that currently look like dreadful duds, a number of AFC-NFC clashes that are around a touchdown on the look-ahead spread, and then matchups like the Texans/Raiders and Packers/Commanders.

Not exactly exhilarating stuff… so why are we looking past the yet-to-be-played Week 6 to peer into the odds crystal ball?

Because there are a couple of matchups worth the words on this page — and one with NFL odds we should take note of asap.

First, we have a Super Bowl 54 rematch between the Chiefs and the 49ers, which seems pretty reasonably priced right now. There’s also an AFC North tilt between the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens that might have some betting v…

NFL Week 4 Picks and Predictions: Geno and the Seahawks Impress in New York

October is just about here, which means it’s time for me to brave the crawl space and dig out the Halloween decorations. It also marks the start of the great debate: What costume will my kids wear for Trick-or-Treating?

If you’re a parent with little ones in that prime Trick-or-Treat age, you know their costume choice changes on a daily basis, similar to NFL odds. Yesterday it was Spider-Man 2099, but after a Netflix session, they want to be some crazy Anime character you’ve never heard of. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? The sharp money is on Mario Bros.

Whatever it is, they gotta decide who they’re going to be — and fast. All the good costumes are getting snatched up and I don’t want to be explaining t…

Week 14 NFL Trend Report: Don't Mess With Green Bay in December

Week 14 of the NFL season is here and so is another edition of my NFL Trend Report, which is hopefully putting a little bit of money in your pocket ahead of the holiday season!

Things are starting to get messy in the NFL as it seems like a big-time starting quarterback is dropping each week while winter weather is about to pick up, which could wreak havoc on a few games in the Week 14 odds.

While the league-wide Under trend is starting to cool off — Overs have gone 18-11 over the last two weeks — we’re seeing some rock-bottom totals in this week’s NFL odds in games headlined by backup quarterbacks and potentially nasty weather.

On Thursday night, it’ll be Bailey Zappe vs. Mitch Trubisky in Pittsburgh in a game that has a total of…
